This is a two-person job. Have the bolts in hand and lift the hood over the car's front end and locate it on the hood hinges.
Place the bolts in loosely at first. You'll need to adjust them for proper fit. Open and close the hood to align and tighten the bolts when in the right spot.
Hope this is what you needed to know.

Is the hood damaged? Do you have the hinges? If the parts are there you need M8 or M6 screws and bolt the hood in place. If you can see the old marks on the hinges that is a good starting point. Bolt the hood on and lower the hood into place. If it does not have even gaps loosen the bolts just enough to move the hood in place to a better fit. And re-tightened the bolts. Keep in mind that if it needs to move only slightly and one rear corner is a good fit, keep that bolt tight and loosen the rest. This bolt holds the fit there and acts as a pivot to line the hood up. If parts are missing see a local wrecker to get a salvage replacement. If you need a latch, to hold the front of the hood, buy new.

Hood latch won't stay in locked position. Hood is 1 quarter inch high.

There should be rubber bumpers on the bottom of the hood where the latch is. They are located on either side (and ends). Screw them inward for lower closure.

I had a wreck when the other driver hit me head on mostly on the front drivers side of my 2005 Nissan Altima, what should I be checking internallly or under the hood? Front axle, struts, shocks, brakes,...

What I would suggest is taking it to a dealership and have perform an inspection on the car. Let them know you were in a wreck, so they would be able to look for any frame damage, leaks, or any other damage to the car. What I would suggest is communicate with your insurance company, because one Strut alone (If you needed it) would run at least $200 in labor (If their labor rate is around $100 an hour or so).

99 ram 5.2 liter noise under hood got louder when rained, replaced Surpentine belt tension wheel, pully, and belt. noise is still there.

If your belt is still squealing then you have a pulley contaminated with oil or coolant which will just cause it to keep squealing. Do not use a belt dressing as they are temporary and ruin the belt. Remove you belt and scrub the ribs of the belt with a mild soap. Then scrub off all the belt pulleys and rinse. Reinstall the belt and your problem should go away.

How do I change tire on 2006 jeep

The owner manual will tell you the jack location and the jacking points. Loosen the lugnuts half a turn before you jack it up. Jack it up and remove the nuts. Put on the spare, and reinstall the nuts and run them down. Lower the car and tighten the nuts as tight as you can get them. Then drive the car to a tire shop. The spare is a temporary spare.

We need a diagram to replece the serpentine belt on a 1996 Chevy Cavalier. The decal on the hood is missing.. and yes, we should have drawn a diagram before removing!

easiest solution,go to local car lot find same year and model, open hood copy diagram,or wrecking yard if old enough,or local parts house may have diagram in manual.
