I had my rear brakes done on my 2005 Toyota Highlander by a mechanic not a delorship and I do no know how to reset the brake warning light.

done brakes or an axle shaft recently?? check the wheel speed sensors

Most likely a dirty or worn out ABS sensor...most shops can use DIAG to pinpoint exactly which wheel ABS is sending this warning signal...should not affect normal braking, but if you feel any braking variation, you should get checked before driving more...cost from $50 up...Hope this helps.

I'm assuming that "won't go into gear" means that you cannot move the shift lever, as though it is locked.
Are the brake lights working? If not, check the brake light circuit fuse AND the brake light switch. (If the brake light circuit does not work, the shift lever release does not work.)
If the brake lights ARE working, you must figure out what is jammed in the mechanism. Although it is possible that the lock solenoid has burned out, a jam in the mechanism around the lock solenoid is more likely.

The fuse for the ABS in a 2002 Highlander is in the black plastic covered box under the hood. If you take the fuse out, the ABS warning light and the emergency brake warning light will illuminate on your dashboard. The brakes will work as if you never had ABS, and the car will chime when you first start off if the emergency brakes are on.

This vehical has drum styal park brake shoes on the inside of the brake rotor so make sure the park brake isn't set and you can turn the rotor. If you can't turn the rotor you will have to look into this first if the park brake is set or sticking you won't get the rotor off if thats ok try spray with penting oil helps a little. I use a 4 or 5 lb sluge hammer and hit the rotor kinds close to the wheel studs about 5 times then hit the outer edge from the back side also works on the outerside. Don't be afread to hit hard I never broke one.

When your VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) light comes on, it means your car has been forced to take evasive action to avoid a dangerous situation. For example, if you're driving on an icy or wet, slippery road, and take a turn too sharp or accelerate too quickly, the vehicle will automatically reduce acceleration or apply pressure to the brakes to prevent the car from losing control. In this situation the VSC indicator light will light up to alert you that the action was taken, and remind you to slow down - or to be extra careful. Be safe!

take the inner pannel off and there will be two clips,screws ors bolts just simply remove theese and sisonect wiring it should just push inward and come right out.

scan tool the brake light is a trouble code have it scanned some auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto do it for free the code is a place to start they can also reset and clear the code

I am a Certified Technician and have basic knowledge with electronics in electrical wiring. I searched the web and discovered this is a common problem.

I fixed the problem and it was a simple procedure... The problem is with the reverse light socket at the side with no brake light. This socket functions as a hub to direct current to the brake bulbs.

Remove reverse light socket and re-seat bulb. Check for loose or broken prongs. Replace if necessary.

Swap the reverse socket with the other side.
