Make sure thermostat switch working properly, the thermostate sensor sense the temperature and kick on the cooling fans on and off, also make sure both fans are working properly. assuming every thing is working properly, check the dip stick to make sure there is no water mix in the oil, another sign of leaking head gasket will also will cause the engine run a bit hotter than normal.

If the coolant is flowing well through the heater core and the hoses, you might have a water pump problem. If this is a small problem now, you should get it looked at and fixed before it becomes a really big problem!!!!!!!!

If the pump isn't leaking and you can see water flowing in the radiator with the cap off, the pump is probably OK. Can you figure out where the coolant leaked out?

2002 stratus change water pump 2.7

This is a job for a shop. You will need to replace the pump and all timing chain parts. If there is water in the oil, that is very BAD. Bearings dont like anti freeze.

I need to kno what it costs to replace a thermostat in a dodge 2002 Stratus 4 cylinder car

I could not give you the going rate for your local shops, but if it is like most vehicles it should not cost more than an hour labor and the thermostat should only be a couple of dollars. You can do the job yourself. The thermostat is usually located at the end of the radiator hose that goes into the top of the water pump/engine. Thats the thermostat housing. It is usually held on by two bolts. You just take the radiator hose off the housing, undo the top bolts and the housing should come off. Scrap the old gasket off of the housing and the water pump/block with a razor , pop in the new thermostat and gasket then reattach everything and you should be good to go.
