When my ford Aerostar idles, the air coming from the vents is cold. I have the heat all the way up, but still cool or cold air. When I push down on the accelerator, the air gets hot.

Hi:
It would be a must do thing to check the coolant level in your radiator when your vehicle is cold, as it might be low on coolant. If the coolant appears to be full, a waterpump could be suspected bad too, as you need circulation thru your system for your heat to work. and it won't produce heat without it !
