engien light is on they said it is because one computer is not talking to another computer what do i look for and how much to fix

There is no way to answer that question, sorry. I have to have the code/s that were stored for starters. If that is what the person said it either means that the ECM isn't talking to the PCM or it could mean that the ECM isn't talking to one or more components in the engine compartment.
