- ok thank you i will do that tomorrow.now you mention rearr air ride.how do i determine if i have that and also with the fuel pump if thats what it is,is that normal for it to make that sound? thanks
I think you are hearing your fuel-pump. Try a few different things, with someone close to where you can hear the sound. Talk with that person. Ask if they can hear the sound with the car off, with the car in the run position(not running), and with the car running. Take notes, If the car has rear air-ride it could be an air leak. But it could also be the fuel-pump or an exhaust leak.

- Normally if you never heard the pump before but you can hear it now. It could be that it is long over due for the fuel filter to be changed. Check your records and see when the last complete tune-up was done. But it could be that there is a lot of mileage on the car and the pump is tired and is now making a little noise. To answer your question about the air-ride, you can look in the owners manual, call the dealer with the VIN#, ask for service, and they will tell you, you can look behind the wheel and see if the shock has an air-bag combined with it or look for an air-bag in place of where you would traditionally see a coil spring mounted.
