i think from memory the 2litre xtype petrol and 2.0 diesel were launched about 2002 and were front wheel drive only. dynamic stability control was only on the 2.5 and 3.0 ltr which were awd cars
If you don't have access to a shop full of special tools like hoists, transmission jacks or can raise the car to a safe working height, then leave it to a pro. AWD's present a whole different set of problems if you're not an experienced mechanic.
It appears this is a common but expensive problem:

P1725 Insufficient Engine Speed Increase During Self Test

Jaguar uses a SUN cleaning system on the car but it is better if the injectors are removed and sent to a company with an ASNU injector cleaner.
These 'Shower Head' injectors seem to clog easily. Some were made by Lucas and others by DENSO.
I did one with less than 17,000 miles on it last year.
Positive STFT and LTFT numbers indicate a gross reduction in delivered fuel.
Up to 9% STFT acceptable with 0 LTFT..
STFT should toggle from 0% to 7% on a good system.
If LTFT above 5% you need to find the problem.
Most companies charge around $20.00 per injector with new O rings supplied. . System is Adaptive and needs a whole tank of fuel to adapt to a steady state.
sounds like an ignition switch glitch or ignition harness problem can be either depending on the amount of wear and tear with turning on and off of the ignition tumbler or possible chafing or inconsistent short in harness to ignition switch check the ground line up through harness first and check the wiring harness condition
