My door locks got smashed into the inside of my door skin on both sides? Some one tried braking into it. Now my question is do i replace the door locks or do i just replace the door handles or both? My vehicle is a 2003 chevy silverado ext. cab
THis will depend on whether or not the door skin itself was damaged. From what I read I think you're saying that the metal lock part itself was pushed into the door... If that's the case, most likely the door handles themselves were broken where they hold the lock cylinder in place. I would go ahead and assume that you will need to replace the handle, but the cylinders could very well be reusable. I don't know what kind of damage was done to them.
you will have to take it apart to know for sure.
But chances are good that you will only have to replace the handles.
the cylinders should be ok as long as the key goes in and it works.
