By cycling the key and it starting, I would suspect the fuel pump. Sounds like low pressure.

Ok you might need to open and close your key switch about ten times before trying to start it. Off position the on position, not start but on then off. Ten time.

drivers side of engine is- 1-3-5-7, from radiator to firewall. -- 2-4-6-8 is on passengers side, firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, on the coil, drivers side from front to back is 1-7-3-5, on the passengers side from front to back, it is 8-2-4-6, If you go to Autozone.com and put in the information you are requesting.. What size engine ? 4.3 L vortex P0300 random misfire code is usually associated with vacuum leaks , but could also be low fuel pressure , plugged fuel filter , fuel pump problem , clogged injectors etc... doing fuel pressure an flow testing would confirm or eliminate that as a problem . Fuel injector balance testing would confirm or eliminate clogged injectors .

FIRING ORDERS

Before carrying out extensive tests to isolate poor running problems, check connections of spark plug wires. This is especially important if plugs, wires, distributor, etc., have been disturbed recently for service. Obviously, this is not applicable to the wireless 4.7L engine.

NOTE To avoid problems, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time to ease reinstallation.
For vehicles with an extensive service history, keep in mind that the distributor could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason, it is very important that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your book to reflect how your engine is wired.
