Need the location of the transmission drain plug, on a 2006 chevy equinox.

the filter is located inside transmission requires to be disassembeled.you actually can drain and refill transmission.should be a drain plug at bottom area and a fill plug on side to refill.should be either 10mm allen or 3/8 drive plugs

Lower left on the radiator / driver's side when mounted in the 2006 Equinox. Drain plug valve faces to the side / towards the front fender.

Most of the drain plug bolt size is 12mm. You might as well try that.

this model doesn't have a transmission fluid dip stick, it is a sealed transmission, there is a fill plug on the case of the transmission just above the pan in most cases, the fluid should be just below the plug, u must access this from under the car.

For instance, if you live in an area where the summer climate hits 110 (i.e. Phoenix), then your vehicle will need to be serviced more regularly. Best recommendation, take your vehicle to AutoZone, Checkers, O'Reillys, etc. for a free diagnostic check.

Unfortunately you can not. Chevy put sealed transmissions on most of their cars starting in 2006. It would be out of luck if you got one without a sealed transmission. If you did, look behind the engine on the passenger side for a dipstick similar to your oil dipstick. If you dont see one, you will have to go to the dealership to have it checked.

drop tranny pan.which will drain fluid. replace filter, gasket then pan refill with fluid .start and let run a few minutes then put in gear it may take a second for fluid to get all thru trans that should do it
