the fuel filter is located on the passenger side along the frame ahead of the fuel tank.its about 3.5"long by 2.5"in diameter with threaded fittings on both ends.you will need a 5/8"and 7/8"wrenches to disconnect the fuel lines and a 3/8"socket to undo the bracket that holds the filter to the area.

I am having a similar problem, but there is no check engine light. It seems that mine dies at the light or running, if the rpm's drop. I am wondering if the Idle air control valve is bad or possibly the ERG valve?
