I need to know what sevices to perform at 100,000 miles, the Service engine soon light is on and i dont know why.

A lot depends on your vehicle history, what kind of vehicle you have and what engine and transmission your vehicle is equipped with. If this information is not provided, it is hard to say what your vehicle needs at 100,000 miles.

Your engine computer has turned the Service Engine Soon light on because there is a malfunction in one of the many systems that are monitored by the computer. The only way to find out which one, or WHY the light is on, is to scan your engine computer to find out why it has turned the light on. There will be a fault code stored in your computer. This light coming on has very little to do with maintenance schedules. It has more to do with SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. (Although many system malfunctions CAN be prevented by performing the scheduled maintenance.)

My Glante is going on 100,000 miles and the service engine soon light came on. Is this car going to start breaking down or is it solid? The car is an 2004.

100,000 miles is an expected lifetime for an engine and car. there is nothing odd about an engine needing some attention at that mileage, remarkable that no problem occurred before that mileage. take it to a shop which has a real analyzer or take it to a dealer and have them tell you what needs attention. the longer you put it off the more expensive it will be. be prepared for a new catalytic converter and exhaust system at a minimum.

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy with 99326 miles and the service engine soon light is on. Is it time to service my car for a tune up and what is invloved in a tune up and what would be my estimated cost?

The best thing to do is to take it to a shop with a diagnostic machine and have the run it on it. That way you will find out exactly what is wrong. And its time for a major tune up at 100,000 miles any way.

What does the "service" light on a 2004 Saturn Vue mean? Not the "service engine soon" light. What is the difference?

This is probably related to "oil change". You should be able to hit reset on your instrument cluster, it is designed to probably come on every 3000 miles after you hit the reset...
did you just buy this car?
Change your oil and hit reset

We have spent over $5000 in the past year fixing VARIOUS issues w/my 2002 Rendezvous (it was a fantastic car PRIOR to rolling over 100,000 miles) and the "Service Engine Soon" light has NEVER gone off for...

As you have already serviced it, reset the ECU by pulling the large fuse (check diagram for ECU fuse) and/or taking the battery leads off for at least 30-60mins. Reconnect and drive a while. This should reset the ECU and no more engine service light :)

Service engine soon light on my 2002 nissan xterra came on at about 100,000 miles. What could be the cause

If it's the indicator that literally says "service engine soon", and not the check-engine light, then you have no worries. That's programmed to come on at set intervals to remind you that routine service may be due soon (oil change, inspection, tire rotation, etc). It's not an indication of failure. Failures will be shown by the check-engine light. That one is nothing to worry about. Your owner's manual should have a procedure to turn it off.

What service(s) does a 2004 rav4 need at 100,000 miles?

This is Toyota's scheduled maintenance for the RAV4 at 100,000 miles...

Replace engine oil and oil filter 1
Rotate tires
Replace engine coolant 2
Visually inspect brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs
Applicable Footnotes:
1) Reset the oil replacement reminder (“MAINT REQD”) light after replacing engine oil, if vehicle is equipped with this light.
2) Initial replacement at 100,000 miles/120 months. Replace every 50,000 miles/60 months thereafter. Refer to "Engine Coolant" in the "Explanation of Maintenance Items" section in the back of this guide for more information.
