it means that there is a fault in the system. it could be as simple as the gas cap was removed while it was running, which causes the system to think there is a vapor leak.
What ever the cause is, the system will eventually retest itself and if the issue is now fixed, it will turn the light off.
The trouble codes on the system can be retrieved, but requires an obd2 scan tool.
Check with your local parts store, alot of them will scan your system for free.
If your check engine light is blinking, do not drive your car. It means the issue it has will damage the catylist converter if you continue to operate it under this condition, and can be very expensive to fix

I recently added a/c to my 96 acura integra and everything is hooked up, the blower turns on, the heat works, defrost works but when I turn the a/c button on nothing happens. the compressor and fan doesnt turno on, it isnt recharged yet because im having these problems and dont know where to go from here
