one at a time if you have never done it... pull one measure to find the right length new one and put it back on. i would recommend plugs too depending on the milage is over 60,000.. make sure the gap is right on the plugs.
Just did it on my 96 Cavalier last weekend. Get a good set from the parts store. Then if your plug wires you just bought aren't labeled 1,2,3,4 (cylinder designation) MARK THEM WITH A SHARPIE at least on the ends and on the cord once or twice. The factory cords have this marking all down the length of the wire. I found the best way to get at the coil is underneath the car where the tailpipe comes through underneath from the engine compartment. You'll have to jack the car up on both sides if your a large fella, use jackstands for safety! Now work from the bottom on the coil, you can reach up through the hole where the exhaust comes from the engine compartment heading back. The coil is just in view laying underneath and peering up. Trace the wires if you can't find it at first. I laid the new wires over the top of the block and dangled the coil-ends down behind the block so the new cords would be there ready to plug in when working from above and so they would be in the right order. Also go ahead and undo all the plastic snaps and take off the plastic covering that holds the old wires together. Unplug from the sparkplugs and feed the old wires down through the exhaust header where they come through. Now from underneath you can pull each wire off the coil one-by-one paying attention to the number on the wire, just plug the new wire in the place of the old one. I went ahead and pulled the old wires out through the bottom and just threw them out to the side so they were no longer in the way. After you make the wire-by-wire transition on the coil, head back under the hood and hopefully at this point you will change the plugs as well. Hook them up 1-4, with 1 being the closest to where the alternator etc. is. It IS a TIGHT FIT underneath, but I couldn't get my arm between the block and the firewall at all from above to reach, much less see, much easier from underneath!

My car was having problmes starting, it would try but then no luck. The starter was taken off and looked at and i was told it was fine and i was told it was the solenoid, i tried changing the solenoid but its still not working. You can hear that electricity is getting to the solenoid but the car is still not starting. What went wrong?

when i started my car and put it in drive, i stepped on the gas pedal and it jerked really hard as i proceeded to drive as i went up hill it started to lose power then jerked again for about 5 seconds then went on uphill as if nothing ever happened. on another day i started the car and put it in drive,it wouldn't move, so i put it in reverse, it still wouldnt' move. fyi i havent had atransmission tune up in 4 yrs. what do ya think.
