I sometimes get an air lock. Loosen the cap on the filter housing on top of the engine. You may hear a hissing noise that sounds like air escaping. When you have the cap off turn the key on for a few seconds.( DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE) This will fill the fuel bowl. Put the lid back on and try to start again. You may have to do this a couple times but it does get air locked at times. Wash off the excess fuel that may splash out before starting the engine.

03 ford focus Starts and run for short period at a time then dies but restarts and again for short time.

If that does not fix it, then it is not the fuel filter but at least a fuel filter is changed and then you get to change out the fuel pump. That sucks.

2002 Ford Explorer ran out of gas put gas in and won't restart. replaced fuel pump and fuel filter still won't start. Cranks but won't start

Most Fords have a fuel reset button. When you ran out of gas you tripped the circuit. Most of the time the button will be on the passenger side by the kick panel. The exact location should be in your owners manual or your local library or auto parts store will have a copy of one for your specific vehicle.

2001 GMC Safari. Changed spark plugs, rotor cap and distributor. Started and ran fine. After 6 or 7 restarts the van died down like it was going to cut off and then ran fine. After shutting it off it won't...

Try changing the fuel filter and checking the fuel pressure at the shredder valve. The readings should be 60 to 65psi with the fuel line pressurized with the engine not running, once the engine is running. It should drop by 5psi. Start with the simple things first. Keep me posted, be glad to help.
