Car is running rough and has no power. Feels like it is missing also. It only has 63,000 miles on car. Someone told me it could be the idle air control sensor. Can someone tell me if this sounds familiar and help me with the problem.

Had the same issue with my 2006 grand prix, gen III 3.8L v-6. Pulled the throttle body, cleaned with throttle body cleaner and the issue cleared. This is a known issue with the 3.8l motor, talk to any good GM mechanic.

Either a bad coil pack and no spark, or plugged fuel filter, or vacuum or gasket leak.

When running at a stop the idle gets really low like its going to die but it doesn't and here lately it runs really rough at any steady speed it feels like it hesitate the motor has 204,000 miles on it

do a compression test on the cylinders. If that checks out ok,change the spark plugs wires cap and rotor. The idle air valve on the throttle body could be working incorrect causing a low idle.clean the throttle body with a cleaner spray.

Rough idle 1994 chevy pick up k1500 4x4

I had a 96 GMC 1500 with a 5.7 ltr. It would idle rough, especially on start up. After replacing everything under the sun, it turned out the ECM (computer) was shot. I found a used one and plugged it in and it ran fine. I think I paid 50 bucks or so for it. If you know someone with a truck like yours, plug theirs in and see if it fixes it.

WHERE IS THE FUEL FILTER LOCATED ON A 2004 HYUNDAI TIBURON? WOULD ROUGH IDLING BE A SYMPTOM OF A BAD FUEL FILTER? 63,000 ORIGINAL MILES, ORIGINAL FUEL FILTER

Usually plugged fuel filters and/or bad pumps cause loss of power at the high end (full throttle) when you are sucking down the fuel not so much at the low end.

Rough idles can be a lot of things, usually something to do with the fuel mixture or timings. Dirty injectors, distributor problems, streatched out timing chain/belts... those are a few common rough idle issues.

Has the fuel economy gone down? Does it still have good acceleration?

Peace,

Intermittent rough idle on 2002 toyota highlander

before you do this I would get some wooden qtips - the long ones auto detailers use. take off the air filtrer assembly and spray carb cleaner into the air\fuel intake and use the qtip to wipe out the inside of the intake. I had the same problem with my highlander a year ago and this fixed the problem.

Missfire

Locate you computer (right front kick panel) and tap on it with a pen while the car idles... Also flex it back and forth with your hands to see if the car runs rough or quits... You may need a new one.
