Are instructions available to repair headlights on a 2000 Ford Taurus SE. How to disassemble / reassemble etc?

- The headlights on my son's 2000 Taurus SE are not as bright as they should be and one bulb appears not to be working at all. We need to know how to get the covers off, replace all the bulbs, clean everything and put it all back together. Thanks, Pam

The bulbs are inserts held in place by a large black ring on the rear of the headlight assembly. Don't touch the glass on the new bulbs as finger oils will cause them to fail.

- The covers don't come off, it is a one piece unit. If the lens is cloudy it can be buffed. If the silvering inside is gone you will need new headlamp assemblies. Poor grounds on the radiator support/inner fenders can cause dim lamps if the headlight assemblies are in good shape.
