The red thermostat light is blinking whenever the car is turned on. What does this error mean?

Could it be an red exclaimation mark instead of a thermostat. If so , are there any other lights on. I'm thinking that it is a caution symbol that comes on in conjunction with other lights like : ABS , Oil , Brake. Post a coment if any other problems are showing.
