The headlight lamp indicator is flashing when my 97 Cavalier is turned on, and the headlights are not working. All other lights on the switch are working.
the problem is corroded wires in the forward lamp harness
1 you can repair it
2 buy a new one
remove the left headlight
you will see the harness
remove the washer bottle
remove the harness
there is a ground wire under the battery tray
once you get the harness out
then remove the tape and covering then you will see green powder like that's repair all the splice i think there about 7 use HEAT SHIRNK CONNECTORS then tape the harness up and reinstall the harness
hope this helps

The starter was taken off and looked at and i was told it was fine and i was told it was the solenoid, i tried changing the solenoid but its still not working. I have a 1996 Chevy Cavalier w/ a 2.4 cylinder engine. I can get my car started but then it will die out of nowhere. What happened was I was driving along and then my mileage needle jumped up and down then my dashboard lights turned on and then only my theft light stayed on. I was able to go about 3 more blocks and then it just died. It will turn over but it won't start. All my lights will turn on and everything. I went to start my car today and it started just fine. So if it sits for a day it will start perfectly fine. It did this a couple weeks ago, and then it did it a week before that. So I can't really pinpoint when it will happen because it does it at random times it seems.
