Problem for GMC 1997 Sierra

Cam sensor problems

i just put a new fuel pump in and there is lots of pressure to the intake like ormal. but the injectors are not coming on. so i got a friend to pt a scanner on it and it says the cam sensor is not reading so im not sure where to check from here, thanks

The cam sensor is in the distributor housing under the rotor. This is relatively common. I personally find it easier and most cost-effective to replace the entire distributor with a remanufactured one. However, the cam sensor is available by itself.
