My 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport makes a loud whistling noise (like a balloon when you let air out while pinching the opening) when I drive in cool or cold weather. It doesn't happen when it's warm out. If I press the gas it goes away but when I let off it comes back. If I sit idle for a few seconds it goes away. It's definately coming from the engine. It sounds like a vaccuum leak but where could it be coming from?
It could be tons of different things , but being that the problem is more evident during cold weather , I'm inclined to think that the serpentine belt is loose.

good morning, the jeep leaks from the power steering reservoir alot and although I have had it fixed. it still leaks. the mechanic tighted the hoses which was replaced recently. there is no heat, it blows air, but there is no windshield defrost, the rear works however. could this be a fuse? the passenger side seat heater works, but not the driver side.
