1998 chevy K1500 just changed fuel pump took bed

1998 chevy K1500 just changed fuel pump took bed off to do it now having trouble with tail lights. When turn on lights no tail lights , when step on brakes, brake lights come on so does license plate marker lights, turn signals blink on both sides one side brighter than other, chked all connections, looked for pinched wires, everthing appears to be ok. What to do ?

You have a bad ground at the rear.Use a jumper from battery neg to black wire to verify.Repair as required.
