Hello,
It sounds like you need a tune up. I would first check the coil wire and cap and rotor then the plugs and wires. It is also possible you need a fuel filter air filter and PCV valve.
I hope this helps.

Will not excelerate past 4000 rpm

IF you have a carby then take it apart and clean it out as all the throats are not working properly including the accelerator pump.

Engine sputtering at 4000 rpm

crank sensor failing, still reading signal but sporadically. can also help if you replace cam and crank sensors at same time.

P0320

P0320 is a code that usually is due to faulty crank sensor, basically the crank sensor is monitored by the computer to adjust timing when driving vehicle, computer completely controls all timing advance and retarding at various points while driving, chances are your sensor is going bad and giving a inaccurate reading causing your engine to have huge lack of power due to improper timing.. May want to check circuits between computer and sensor to assure wiring is ok, does the temperature of the engine seem to make a difference in how it runs???

Truck backfires and stalls when excellerated half way.

Sounds like the timing open the distributor and in there is a relector,is there alot of corrosion? This reluctor has a tendency to shift out of position causing the vehicle timing to retar,Another area to inspect is the MAP (manifold air pressure) .This sensor monitor engine load according to vacuum when this goes out you cant accelerate the vehicle and it sputters as the vehicle tries to accelerate, you need to check that the vacuum hose has not come off,or just failed

From a stand still if you accelerate hard vehicle starts vibra

Well, kind of short on description, issues typical in this complaint are misfiring and U joints.

To emininate the engine, does the vibration happen on power braking, without the vehicle moving?

I have a 2001 nissan pathfinder 4w. The OBD system-readiness status: Says catalytic converters, NOT READY; oxygen sensors, NOT READY; evaporative system, NOT READY. So did not pass inspection, I was told...

You have to re-set the obd via using Nissan's approved drive-cycle which is;

1. Start the engine when the engine coolant

temperature gauge needle points to C. Allow

the engine to idle until the gauge needle

points between the C and H (normal operating

temperature).

2. Accelerate the vehicle to 55 MPH (88

km/h), then quickly release the accelerator

pedal completely and keep it released for at

least 6 seconds.

3. Quickly depress the accelerator pedal for a

moment, then drive the vehicle at a speed

of 53 to 60 MPH (86 to 96 km/h) for at least

5 minutes.

4. Stop the vehicle.

5. Accelerate the vehicle to 35 MPH (55 km/h)

and maintain the speed for 20 seconds.

6. Repeat steps 4 through 5 at least 3 times.

7. Accelerate the vehicle to 55 MPH (88 km/h)

and maintain the speed for at least 3 minutes.

8. Stop the vehicle and turn the engine off.

9. Repeat steps 1 through 8 at least one more

time.

If step 1 through 7 is interrupted, repeat the

preceding step. Any safe driving mode is acceptable

between steps. Do not stop the engine

until step 7 is completed. If you cannot or

do not want to perform the driving pattern, a
NISSAN dealer can conduct it for you.

Very slow in responce to excelerator

How about checking up your clutch plates & it's springs, which might be getting jammed & when released it engages the transmission resulting in wheels spinning & sudden acceleration. If the throtle is not opened up while taking off, the engine might & would switch off!....sodeep

ENGINE SPUTTER AND DIES ON ACCELERATION

check your fuel filter, take an air compressor and blow air through the "in" end if no or little air is coming through then just replace the filter, if fuel filter is ok then try a fuel additive to clean your injectors which are a very common problem when the engine gets gunky build up on them
