Problem for Kia 2004 Optima

Car won't start.

My 2004 Kia Optima (2.4 Liter 4 cylinder) will not start. Fuel is getting to engine. Car turns over but will not start. The left (passenger side) coil will not spark. Switched the two coils and the other coil, when attached to left side, does not spark. Could it be that my ECM is bad? What else could cause this problem?

- Well I bought a diagnostic tool today and ran it. It is showing an error #P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor A - Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction. Is this possibly why the car will not run? I'm not having much luck finding information for it online.

- yes this definetly is a #1 possibility if your tool has data stream you can watch the cam signal as you crank it ............if not i would check connection first if looks good go ahead and change the sensor
