Problem for Ford 1999 Explorer

On my 1999 Ford Explorer when you open the drivers

On my 1999 Ford Explorer when you open the drivers side door the interior light does not come on. I had the front door latches replaced about six months ago. Could the problem be with the replaced front door latches or a fuse?

The lights work the same way as your fridgerator does. There is a push button located on the door or some where around the door frame. This could have been disconnected or damaged.
