check the solenoid ?" don't no if that's spelled right also the bendix if the bendix on the starter is not engaging the fly wheel this will do the same thing

maybe starter motor ,go give a few knocking on started motor sometime is will started it up 4 u ,if u know where the starter motor is

Highly possible problem is the starter solenoid. You may hae to replace starter. Remove and have it checked.
