When the car is started the dash reads D4 as if it is already in drive. I have replaced the ECM but the same issue remains. What could this be?

- When started the dash reads D4. When placed into drive the car starts off very slow. I have to start of in 1 and manually shift up while driving. The car is an autmatic but has to driven like a stick.
This is the standard advice, probably worth following: The "D4" indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition ON (II). If it flashes while driving (in any shift position), it indicates a possible problem in the transmission. Avoid rapid acceleration and have the transmission checked by an authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible. Hope this is helpful
