It sounds like the power window motor is broken.
If when you try to open or close the window you hear a screeching sound in one direction or no motor sound at all this is most likely the case.
The dirvers side motor is usually the first to go bad as it gets the most use.
You can find replacement parts here for most cars at decent prices if you are a DIY-type:
