Changed oil sensor gauge,the oil gauge stays high

changed oil sensor gauge,the oil gauge stays high doesnt move even when pickup is off do i need to change the gauge,also dash lights are out do i need to pull the the the dash. thank you

Your problem isnt most likely the gauge itself but the instument cluster, more over the circuitry for the gauge cluster.

You have a few options...
1. take it to GM and have it refurbished.
2. buy a new one from GM.
3. Get one from a salvage yard.

Hope this helps ya out.
