1Z TDI - driving along fan belt started to break up, engine stopped. Has the timing belt slipped? Fan belt still driving alternator and steering pump but strands have broken off.

Hi there 1Z, I think you should go check it out and see if there is problem but timing belt has to be checked every 20,000 km
