When the key is in the ingition and in the on

Hi there , no this is not normal. You may have a very worn ignition cylinder. I am a locksmith in Queen creek Az and I do a lot of ignition repairs. The ignitions in most Gm, Ford , Dodge, Chryslers ect were all made by the same manufacturer and all had the same problems. It does it because the waffers have worn down and the key catch in the front of the lock has been worn and or damaged. Thank you , Quinn Texada.

No, it's not normal. Ignition cylindercylinder malfunctions, cause the operation of the key itself to become problematic. If the tumblers become stripped, the locklocklock cylinccylinder may be able to turn with any key, or you may be able to remove the key when the car is on. If the tumblers begin to shift, the locklocklock cylindercylindercylinder may not turn. Sometimes the key can be wiggled until the locklocklock cylindercylindercylinder turns, but it is important to remember that this is only a temporary fix.
