- i don't understand why autozone told me it was under hood, driver side, upper engine area, mounted in end of cylinder head. so my 96 ford ranger does not have ignition module.. my engine is not getting no fire through spark plugs.. it not out of time um its got a new fuel pump and i reset fuel pump so fuel pump ok um i don't know about coil pack never change them yet.. and the engine just crank and crank but won't run i done with out a truck for 2 week i'm tired of riding
96 does not have one it has a pcm (power train control module) its located upper left hand ..edge of the fire wall in the engine compartment. make sure thats what it is that part may b expensive.
coil packs r usually not to hard to change pull one plug wire off at a time then put them on the new one i would try that before i put ignition module did u put a new fuel filter on it to c
96 ranger likely doesn't have one. The "module" that used to be found in carburated vehicles with Distributors and Rotors has been eliminated by fuel injection , electronic ignition , and computers.
I MIGHT BE WRONG ABOUT THIS , maybe someone will come up with a better answer. In any case you might have to give more info about what the engine is doing ( or not doing ) .

My A/C only blows cold in MAX position. All other positions, both A/C and heater, blow full hot. I also can not control temp via thermostat. Anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.
