I have a 1991 ford lincoln towncar and the freeze plug is leaking but its behind the block. How is the best way to replace it instead of dropping the transmission? please a good response is needed. Thank You and happy motoring
You Will have to take off the engine mounts. Place a piece of wood under where the tranny and the engine connect and lift it up.Then pop the freeze plug and put in a new one.they do have rubber ones too, youmay want to replace it with a heated one as well.
