SOURCE: location of the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor on a 2001 ford escape

B1 means the sensor is located on the same bank of the engine that has the #1 cylinder. B2 is located on the opposite bank.
S1 means the sensor is located BEFORE the catalytic converter
S2 means the sensor is located AFTER the catalytic converter

You didn't say which engine you have, so I've included the diagrams of both 4 cyl and 6 cyl so you can see the banks

SOURCE: IAT sensor

The IAT (Intake Air Temperture) is the sensor that measures the temp of the incoming air to the engine, it is either in the rubber hose to the engine from the air filter housing, or on the air filter housing itself, it is small and round with 2 wires going to it, many times it is left unplugged during routine maintenance.

Just bought a resistor that is supposed to plug into the intake airflow temperature sensor on my 2001 ford escape but i do not know where that is. the only thing thats looks like what it should be is the...

That resistor only tells the car's computer that it is cold outside so it will make your car run rich. Your fuel economy will degrade by about 2-3mpg and spark plug life will decrease significantly. I'm sure you purchased the resister with promises of "more power" and that may be true, but I'm going to recommend not using the resistor.

Your vehicle in particular would be very difficult to bypass only the IAT as it is physically part of the Mass Air Flow sensor. It has a 6-wire connector and not much information is easily available from alldata on which wires go to which part of the unit.

What is throubleshot p0113 at ford escape 2001

Intake air temperature sensor faulty. Depending on what engine, may be in side of air cleaner or air intake hose , or may be part of the MAF (mass airflow ) sensor. You can try cleaning MAF with tuner cleaner from radio shack or TV repair place.
