15" rim width? Yes, but you will need a wheel with adequate back spacing or wheel spacers. However, there may be rubbing issues in turns.

15" rim diameter? Absolutely. That is plenty of diameter to clear the braking components.
You will likely have to go with a lower profile tire.

I have a 2001 pt cruiser needs rims and tires size on it now are235/45/R17 size on chart inside driver door is 195/65/R15 or 205/55/R16 not sure which size to buy please help thankyou

The number after the r is the rim size. According to your post you have 17 inch rims. Stock rims were 15 inches or optional 16 inches. Unless you are putting a different size rim on then you need a17 inch tie to fit your current rim

Will a mastercraft P205/60R/15 fit my 1995 dodge caravan 6 inch wide stock steel wheel.

yes as long as the rim is a 15 inch rim what matters is the diameter not the width of the rim however you want to match the size of you tires as closely as possible as it will cause abnormal wear on your tires, brakes , and traction control to name a few if you cant match all four at least make sure to match the two in the front and try to keep smaller tires to the front and larger tires to the back

What kind of tires do I use for a 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 2.0 doc motor

Kathy

You can find a list of the recommended tires and pressures on a placard affixed to the driver door / jamb. This placard will also list the weight of the vehicle, and other information too. You should be able to look at the sidewall of the existing tires to determine the size. They will likely be either 185/65-14 or 185/60-15.

I looked at Tirerack.com and input your 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 and got these results. Apparently, two different sizes were standard for this car. They are: 185/65-14 and 185/60-15. The main difference is that one is mounted on a 14 inch rim and the other is mounted on a 15 inch rim (as indicated by the bold number in the size). Determine which size rim (by looking at the tire size you currently have) and replace with one of those listed above. This ONLY applies to factory rims. if they have been changed, all bets are off.

Any reputable tire shop or Automotive tire department (at Sears, etc.) should be able to get this info for you free of charge.

Good luck!

I have a 97 saturn sl that has 17" rims on it.I am

Figure out what it is, an SL1 being SOHC or an SL2 being DOHC. If it is a SOHC then it came with 14 inch rims and if it is a DOHC then it came with 15 inch rims. Once you know what it is then call around to local junkyards, or auto recylers if it sounds better, and tell them you need 4 rims of the right size. Rims usually cost about 20 bucks apiece used and any Saturn rim 91-20 will fit the car, with the proviso that they must be the right rim, being 14 inch or 15 inch. If you put the wrong size on, your speedometer and odometer will be way off and your transmission life with be greatly reduced. Then get yourself some regular tires to fit the rims and sell those stupid rims on craigslist to some dumb kid.

Hi i just purchased a 2004 kia sudona I have a junk 1999 ford taurus but brand new tires that are 205 60 15 the kia sudona has 215 65 15 will my 205 60 15 fit and be safe to drive with the vehicle

Your Taurus tires are slightly narower ( 1/2 inch ) which is not a problem , but will offer slightly less protection for your rims from curb rash. Your taurus tires are quite a bit shorter , smaller in diameter than your sadona ( about 1 1/2 ) inches. The taurus tires will have to spin faster for the vehicle to travel the same speed. Assuming you are changing all 4 tires there is not really a safety issue , however , your speedometer will not give an acurate indication of your speed.
205/60/15 is a very popular tire size and my personal opinion would be to sell the new tires and ford rims for about $ 300 - $ 400 to someone who has a ford , and use the $$ to buy proper sized tires for your kia. I would go with a good , agressive snow tread on the front , and just a good all season tire on the back.

both tires will fit on the 15 inch rim
But be advised make sure you have same size tires on the drive wheels being as your car is front wheel drive u want both the front tires to be the same size
if this is not done u will burn up your transmission
if you have to put a odd ball tire on put it on the rear

exact opposite is true for rear wheel drive car on a rear wheel drive car u want both rear tires to be the same size

Can 15 inch tires go on this car 225/75r15

What is the rim size? Is that number the tire you want or the tire you have on there now? The size you show is a 15 inch tire, The 225 and the 75 are denominators of tire height and width. The 15 is the rim and the R is radial. Most cars, all cars start with P, passenger, some have a speed rating, Z, or X, the 75 is 3/4 the width= the height, 225 mm wide, something like that. Hope this helps.
