The high pitch noise leads me to believe a problem with the hyudraulic clutch. Have you checked the level? also with manuals you dont have tranny fluid, you have gear oil; which is very unlikely that needs changing

Bearing noise. If you hear the sound only when you press the clutch pedal then it's the clutch pressure bearing. If you hear it permanently (but it stops when you press the clutch pedal) it's one of the bearings from the transmission shafts.
Bolt on the side of the tranny case:put the car at a level, unplug the bolt and put in your finger in the hole - if the oil level is good it should be just there.
To check or replace the oil just unscrew the bottom plug, the oil should be clean, transparent and without a fried (or burned) smell.
To fill it in put the bottom bolt in and fill thru the side bolt hole - it's full when it will start to overflow so pour slowly.
The high pitch sound is the throw-out bearing if it only occurs when the clutch is depressed, it may fail in a month or it may last for years it is one of those conditions that should be adressed soon though.
If you hear the noise when you push the clutch pedal in, you are hearing the through out bearing. When you engage the clutch, it disconnects the trans from the engine.
You may need a new throw out bearing.
If you put it in gear and you hear noise with the clutch out, it is probably the input bearing in the trans. It is a lot better to be the TOB.
The sound you hear is the throwout bearing. It is wearing and should be replaced asap. If you wait too long you will get stranded somewhere because the bearing doesn't give too much more warning. Thanks, Dana
Sound`s like your throw out bearing has gone bad unless your real handy with auto repair you better take it to a mechnic
