97 tahoe 2dr. 5.7lno "mil" on. pings constantly under light accel. i also think it is lacking a little power. just tuned with all g.m. parts, and in very good condition. 150k

the timeing is out afair way and it probably could use a higher octane fuel ,that is all it can be .

Sounds like a faulty "knock sensor" . Should be located near starter in engine block.
