Hello friends, I have a 2009 Honda CRV. Is it normal for a vehicle to sometimes have a rough break-in period on a vehicle. I have had a lot had a lot of intermittent issues with this car, and have been told by some that it could just be the car breaking in. Some of my issues have been a bit of a rough downshift when I let off the accelerator. Sometimes the car shifts a little differently. Now when I drive the car for the first time of the day I hear a whining sound that seems to be coming from the engine, but it goes away after a couple minutes. Also the car will sometimes sputter under acceleration. I have taken it to the dealer once, and they pulled for codes and couldn't find anything. So I am thinking maybe just a rough break-in. Anyone have any other suggestions. Any input would be appreciated.
Is this really an 09. If so your going to have to let the dealer deal with this since its a warrenty issue. You may have to leave it with them for a few days so they can drive it. Hopefully they will have a free loaner you can drive. If they can't fix it you may just have a lemon that needs to be reported to the proper agency. Sometimes the factory techs arnt as smart as independant techs which experience alot more issues with a larger variety of cars.
To me it does sound like a sensor issue that may be hard to detect as being bad.
It is not normal for a car to malfunction at any stage of break-in. If the dealer you took the car to can't figure it out just take the car to another dealer. There are many fish in the pond.
And the miles are???? Whatever the problem is, in 10k miles they should all be broken in, if the noise or problems persist, have it checked and go for a ride with the service manager and point out the concerns.
