If you're check engine light is on, if this is you're question, no you cant turn your key to read the codes. If we are on the same page, you have to have them read with the OBD-2 Meter. It plugs in your PC just below the steering column mounted under dash., or bottom edge of dash. Auto zone will check these codes for no charge. I finally bought one for my own use. No, to display fault codes set by the ECU you will need an OBD2 scan tool. This vehicle is OBD2 compliant and that is the only way to access the fault codes.
