The contacts on the second most used switch in the vehicle do wear out. Unfortunately the door panel has to be removed to access the switch array.
Remove the door panel
Remove the switch array
Find a local U-Pull-It type wrecking yard. Bring your switch with you
Explore the jeep section. Find a switch with the same socket pattern as yours and buy it for $5.00 (which beats the heck out of $35.00 at the dealership)
You can even see if it works in the parking lot
Put your door back together and close your window
BTW, My '86 Cherokee did the same thing. You won't have any problems
Show it a few dirty pictures..... no really... ya have to take the door panel off and move it up by hand...then get a new switch... now is tfhe time to fix it. unless you live in florida. That's why every one has tinted glass... their car widows are broken and they don't put them up or down...they just tint them and use the air 365.... :-)'

while my mechanic was coding the pcm the car stopped running,after trying to solve issue,he informed me that it had to be sent out to re program/or buy new pcm .does this sound logical?
