1994 s10 kicking in and out of overdrive it is a 4.3 4x4 with 160xxx all other shifts fine just started today on highway pulled codes and only got code 83

Try checking these two things to save your transmission.
Poor line pressure rise due to leaking boost valve, clogged EPC filter screen, failing EPC solenoid, or worst case: leaky seals throughout. Transgo HD2-C kit fixes first two without removing trans. Seal restorer may fix last problem, but probably R&R. Also try a transmission flush with BG brand products (Firestone stocks it).
Check TPS for smooth electrical response. If the response is jumpy or erratic at all, replace TPS.
The code 83 i not sure what that is, i don't have it in my lap top. hummm
