If the lock tumbler has come completely out, look inside the hole, do you see a rectangular slot? if so put a screw driver flat tip in this slot and turn like a key it will open, then you should be able to access the lock mechanism from under the lid, may have to remove inner interior panel, the lock should be held in with a clip. Hope this helps, let me know.

Cannot open trunk of 1994 audi cabriolet

There is a key over ride position if your boot becomes locked due to electrical failures you have to turn the key in the boot lock that bit further then push in the barrel.

Picture the slot position something like ten past eight rather than 6 oclock or five past seven

How to open a deadlocked rear door.

Hi. remove the rear seat and door pad. You can access the lock through a small hole, break the top inner corner of the lock and it will release the dead lock and open the door.

Cant access trunk from back seats

unless you have a car that has the ability to fold the rear seat backs to facilitate luggage from the boot into the passenger area then you will not be able to gain access to the boot from inside the car. There is normally a steel panel cross brace to strengthen the cab or a flat sheet of steel with holes punched in for the same purpose. I imagine you wish top gain access to the boot because the lock is busted but you will have to get a locksmith to get you in with out panel damage.

Cant open boot on vw beetle

Go into boot from rear seat and you will find a red plastic cord in the tailgate trim( sometimes under a plastic cover) pull the cord and boot opens. Locking solenoid will be faulty.

Unlock boot without key

No such thing as a universal key. I would remove the rear seat and crawl through to release the trunk latch.

Drivers side door lock barrel fell out???

This is a common fault on A4 VAG cars (Mk 4 Golfs, Skoda Octavias, Seat Leon, Beetle, Audi TT , Audi A3) you will need to remove the door card from the inside. Repair kits are available so it may be possible to repair the lock barrel but for the effort htat is required to remove the door card I would replace the lock barrel rather than repair it.

How to open boot from inside the car( cant seem to find button )

First of all
  • does it have an electric operated boot release button?

If it does , It probably needs adjusting to remove slack tension.
Trouble is its located.....in the boot....AARRRRGGGHH !! LoL
Although I own a V8 Holden Statesman, not a Alfa GTV,
An elec boot release is an elec boot release, Try what I do for mine.
Have someone push down on boot lid & release it , as you keep quickly hitting the button.OR have them sit on it.
Works most of the time for me .

  • IF IT HAS A KEY OPERATED BOOT
If key fails to turn quite enough to open the boot, Or not at all , then the barrel may need lubrication or replacement.

As electric boot release motors only have a small amount of torque & share the same mechanism as the key itself. Therefore a "sticky" lock will eventually result in the loss of cable tension

To Lubricate you lock ...( no pun intended lol )
  1. Dip the your key in some oil .Motor/Baby/Sewing/Tan/Cooking anything like that, just on the area that is inserted into the lock.
And insert into the lock , Remove & repeat over , whilst jiggling the key untill it will open

  • Or Use a spray product such as CRC or WD-50 with the small straw that inserts into nozzle.

If that fails , and you get cannot access the rear of the lock area from inside the boot to manually operate the latch, Then youll need to force it open and replace the barrel itself.

First visit the wreckers/Auto shop and pick one up...dont forget the key...lol

Next Hammer a suitablly sized flat-blade screw driver into the keyslot of the bootlock, take care not to damage the car, but dont be afraid of making the lock itself look reaaal ugly, hammer, twist, wiggle untill its either open or out of the way .
once visible , turn the "square hole" to open your boot and attach the new lock.

After it has
