Starting in the morning cold is a problem. Jeep starts and accelerates up, then drops down and stalls. Can't start againg without using the gas. Then will stall at traffic signals, because idle is too low. After letting engine is warm, shutoff and let set for awhile, will start as normal. Check enginge light remains on for 4-5 cycles. What is problem?
The problem is with the engine management system that controls the idle speed for cold starts and pretty much everything else. In the old days the problem would be the auto choke but as this is a new model its the electonics I'm afraid. You can get this sorted out at a dealer. It should still be under warrenty.

It has been sent back to the dealer today. I had it the dealership all last week and they would start it. It didn't do it, because it was too warm o

It could also be carbon build up on the throttle body, but regardless the cure is the same. Your going to need to clean the throttle body and the idle air control valve (IAC). With a can of throttle body cleaner, (follow instruction on the can) clean the throttle body blade and the IAC passage way in the throttle body and IAC. Once the throttle body is cleaned, with the engine off, turn the ignition key to the on position (engine not running) and wait for 30 seconds and then turn if off for 10 seconds and then start it. This should reset the IAC, if it did not work do it again and see if it helps. If not clean out the IAC passage way again. The turning on and off the ignition reset's the IAC and it may still be stuck with carbon build up. Once the engine has started, Note there will be lots of smoke form the tail pipe, that's normal. It's just the left over throttle body cleaner and carbon being burn off, take's not more then 10 min to burn off. Good luck and this should keep you from replacing the IAC. Oh and don't use Carb cleaner, Carb cleaner is to corrosive to the throttle body gasket.

2006 jeep wrangler with oil leaking from the front of the transmission where it meets the engine. What might be causing this? Also what is the name of the tool used to open the transmission oil plug, is it jeep specific? Thanks in advance. Newbie.

On my 06' wrangler I have an issue with cold air coming out of the dash and hot air coming out of the floorboard vent. While the air is on the coldest temp, it will blow cold air out of the top and bottom. If you back off the temp even a few notches, it starts blowing hot air out onto your feet while still blowing cold out of the dash. I have taken it to a dealer who charged $750 dollars to replace a blend door which they said was "twisted". I still have the same issue as when I took it in for repair. They also told me that they compared my jeep to another 06' jeep and it was doing the same thing. So they said it must be just the way it was designed. Please advise if this could in fact be due to design, or is there a cure?

My Jeep cuts off when at idle. It will not start. I can jumpstart it fine, but if I let it get to an idling RPM, it will shut back off. Also, when my door is open, the needles on my instrument panel jump around and the interior lights and radio blink on and off. When door is shut, I can put key in and radio works fine. Just when the door is open does it go on blink. I cleaned the terminals on battery and its still doing it. Any suggestions??
