my car seems to ahve a problem with its timing belt. How often should i get this checked and around how much do you think it will cost to fix/replace?

it should be replaced at 60,000 miles with the waterpump and balance shaft belt, it has auto tensioner so doesnt need to be checked just replaced at 60,000 miles it costs about $500.00 to $600.00 depending on were you get parts. hope this is helpful.

If you are having problems with the timing belt, then you're in a hurry! The timing belt should be changed normally every 40 000 miles or so. Sooner, if you drive in extreme conditions. It should not cost you more than 250-300$.

If you don't change it , the timing is off a bit and creates all kind of problems. If it brakes off, you're in trouble big time, because all your valves will then move individually and the damage may require you to have a whole new engine block (probably a 5 000$ job). So hurry up!

It should be replaced at between50 &60 thousand km.Should cost about 450.00.
