Hello i have a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue somtimes when i turn the key to start the car it wont start i dont hear any sound at all and somtimes it starts right up now on top of that it seems like i dont have any power the windows wont go up or down and i cannot use my remote to unlock the doors can u tell me what this might be thanks a million jon

If the car isn't turning over (starting) it sounds like you have a flat battery. Does it make a click click click sound?

that will be a difficlut one as those key's do have pick-up sensors built in, you can by pass it wil start the engine but after 5 seconds it wil turn off, so it wil be better to get new one and code the key

If you check your battery cables they might be dirty with acid also the starter wire might be loose on the starter if u get a screw driver and turn your key on cross the starter out it might start that way if it does then that means u might need a starter hope it helps

The 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue gets 28 mpg city/hwy. If you dont think you are getting that, I suggest replacing the air cleaner, and running a few tanks of higher octane gas through.

One of 2 things. Either the battery is low, you have power, but not enough cranking amps to start car. Or the antitheft is not communicating correctly and the ticking sound is from the TDM . (theft deterrent module). Here is a link for the antitheft system. If it is not cranking, you must check for battery voltage, if it is cranking you must check for ignition (spark) and verify fuel pressure and fuel delivery to the cylinders.

I have a 2000 Olds Intrigue that has the starting problem that some people have spoke about. You turn the key and all lights come on but the car will not start nothing. I 1st replaced the ignition switch which did not correct the problem. To get around the problem I have connected a wire to my starter and ran the wire up to the battery and when the car acts up I take the wire touch the positive pole on the battery post and the starter will turn over. I then get in my car and use the key and start the car. I have not been stranded by the car since. I try the key a few times if nothing happens I'll wait a few minutes and if that does not do it I jump the starter with my wire. This has been working for the last 2 years. It's not a correction but it is a work around.

Check your manual if you have it. I believe you need to have the key in the ignition in the ON position for about 10 minutes to reset the security system.

r u referring to cranking the engine takes 5 times to get it to turn over then if the case u need a new starter motor as the unit has a bad spot on the armature or the starting solenoid disc is burnt and finally gets full connection. Othetr than that u may have a broken tooth or 2 on ur flywheel.
