Getting code 011 ignition , jeep stalls and some times will not start , any clue on where to start. thanks , aj ilde is running a recomended 744- 765 and usually stalls about 5 minuites after first start up , if it does get started. fuel pressure is constant no drop before stall.

that is called a stall (a 60k mile tune up cures most stalls)
can you prevent the stall? with a fast right foot? (best clue on earth)!

by the book.
stalls have over 50 causes.
but are really just 4. Class failures.
a shop uses tools to fine true cause.
1: lost 12vdc power to EFI system. for any reasons.
2: lost compression on one or more cylinders.
3: lost spark. or timed wrong.
4: bad fueling, (too much , or too little) or lost air supply at ilde, ISC stuck closed causing rich and slow, running and stalls.

or just the EGR stuck open. this would fall under, #4

all stalls end in CEL check engine light on. that is normal
but CEL glow. when engine running , means you had a failure, and it stored DTC error codes, so scan it.
lots of causes. huge list.
get a tune up , tops list.

SCAN it to be sure all sensors work. running.
all fuses in car good.
by stalls , i assume the engine stalls and engine RPM is 0 RPM.
the stall cause the whole dash to light up, all the warning lamps come
on (self test) oil , charge , CEL. come on.
what is important is the stall and the cause.

i will tell you the 3 ways.
lost electrical power to engine EFI system (seems not)
bad engine, (lost compression hot)?
bad spark , spark died.?
bad fueling, lost all fueling (starves and stalls or floods and misfires horribly and stalls (black spark plug tips are big time clue)

if non eof the rings a bell.?
get the car serviced.

this car is newer nicer car, you (we) can scan and drive and log data.
allowing faster easy diagnosis.

the lamps all change at engine stall , did it stall.
at about 300 rpm all engines (gas) stall, and the ECU changes state.
all cars.
does car run, ok, drive ok ,start ok, and sound ok? just a clue here.

Having a qualified repair shop do diagnostic's on the vehicle would be your best bet . Could be any number of thing's ,engine mangement system sensor's , fuel system , ignition system , engine mechanical systems etc.... Could be as simple as just needing spark plug's & wire's , fuel filter . But , some testing should be done by a qualified technician with a professional scanner .You don't want to get into a guessing game , one person tell's you it's this or that , because without doing testing they are just guessing .

check the O2 sensors in the exhaust manifold with a automotive meter not a code reader ,then trade it in for a diesel manual version as these are impressive but 4.7 litre gas guzler at our petrol prices about 10 dollars a gallon in the -uk and around 7/8 dollars here in spain this vehicle you couldnt give away here

What you're describing is typical when there's a problem with the ignition coil and/or, if you have electronic ignition, the ignition control module, These kinds of problems are very difficult to diagnose. It wouldn't hurt to use an OBD scan tool to check for error codes, even if the check engine light is not on. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a bold of an inexpensive coil from a salvage yard and see if this solves the problem.

Try replacing the coolant temp switch. The one that sends signal to the ECU. I hope this helps

The problem on your dakota is Very Common.
On my 10 year working on Vehicles " On US."
And I Owned a jeep's 93, 97, 2000, 2007,
I recomend Replace the Cam position sensor (hall efect pick-up)
And the Crank position sensor, Located between the Engine and transmission housing.
all times when they come damage, run and stall is the first simptom. but ane day will not run completlly.
