2002 Trailblazer. My oil pressure low dsiplay came on after driving 40 miles, the engine shut down. The oil was changed 1000 miles ago, oil level is fine. What could this be?

could be a few things-(if oil pressure is showing low usually under 20 lbs recheck oil level) bad sensor,oil pump,low oil level ,sludge have truck scanned for trouble code some stores such as auto zone / advanced auto scan for free
