Follow the hose back from the bottom of the radiator to the engine block, where it joins into the block there will be a domed cap with three or four bolts holding it down, under that dome is the stat
Make sure you get a new gasket as well as the correct stat
I saw some bad info in this problem, so I am offering advice. The thermostat is not on the bottom radiator hose, but rather on the top. You should follow the top hose to the point that it connects with the housing that is bolted to the top of your engine. It will likely be attached by 2 bolts, 3 at the most. Loosen the bolts and pull up housing and all. Some models do not have a gasket, but rather finely machined surfaces. If this is the case, I suggest using a gasket sealer on the contact surfaces. Do this only after throughly cleaning both contact surfaces. If it does require a gasket, get a new one and clean the old gasket material from the surfaces before installation. In most cases, it will not be necessary to disconnect the radiator hose from the housing to do this repair. Pay particular attention to the direction the old thermostat is positioned, as you will want to put the new one in exactly the same way. Good Luck. I hope you find this very helpful!
