Problem for Peugeot 1991 405
Gear change difficult
hi iv got a peugeot 406 coupe 1998 .the problem is that when im driving and change into third gear im finding it difficult to put in. is it because its out of alignment or has it got anything to do with my clutch thanks

Is it only difficult to engage into the 3rd gear only or is it also sometimes difficult to engage to into other gears?, and does it make any noise as you try to engage to the 3rd gear?

i would say clutch, if you trun off car and depress clutch and it goes through the gears ok then its the clutch, first thing is than fluid is full in clutch master cylinder,good luck.

- its hard to say, it could be 3rd gear syncrors are worn, the noise you hear could be in clutch, hard to say without hearing or diagnosing it,have a trany shop look at it id rather a 2nd opinion before you started spending $$ , good luck.Yes
