voltage gage is fluxuating when I use turn signal, windows, lights, ect... as if the alternator was going bad. Replaced alternator and battery and still have the same problem. When the car is not started for more than a day the new battery is inexplicably drained? Battery holds a charge for a short time after recharge. But something is draining the power when the car is off as well as when the car is started?

- I have already had the new alternator and new batery as well as the starter tested at Auto Zone to be sure I didn't receive bad re-furbished parts and they all seem to be 100%. Everything else electrical seems to be working fine on the car. The only oddity is what seems to be a problem with the fuel getting to the engine. When I try and start the vehicle after it has been sitting for more than 12 hours or so, it doesn't start up immediatly, it sounmds like its getting a spurt of gas then dies out and sometimes takes me a few cranks to get her lit up. I thought possible a fuel line clog but the odd thing is this only seems to happen when the battery has been drained sufficiently. If the battery is drained enough (about 24 hours) the car will simply crank and crank and not get any fuel at all to the engine. Almost as if there is not enough power to get the fuel pump going??? But the starter is turning over fine as if there were plenty of juice in the battery (no sluggish sound to the cranking). As soon as I add more juice to the battery via jumping it, then the fuel kicks in and it begins to send fuel to the engine and it tries to start up with what seems like small spurts of gas and after about four or five cranks of it firing up for a second and then dying, it finally starts. Then it starts right up on the first crank until the battery is weakened again??? I have had the fuel pump replaced within the last year so I am fairly certain it's not the pump or the filter. thanx for everybodies help

- I'm not sure how to check what my idle speed is set to. It idles pretty smoothly at about 6-7. Just had a new engine put in about 4-5 months ago. See my clarification comments on top for further details.

Check for frays in all your wiring. Sounds like you have a direct short somewhere in your wiring. Has anything electrical on the vechicle recently quit working?

IS THE IDLE SPEED SET TO SPEC OR SLOW?, HAVE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY TESTED, AUTOZONE DOES THIS FOR FREE, ALSO A WEAK DEFECTIVE BATTERY CAN CAUSE THIS, THE ALT IS WORKING HARD TRYING TO KEEP THE BATTERY UP, ANY ADDITIONAL LOAD CAUSES THE VOLTAGE TO DROP.
